[1] There are a number of reasons some scholars place Job around the time of Abraham.
1) Job offered sacrifices just as patriarchs did (cf. Job 1:5 and Gen 22:13) but knew nothing of the Abrahamic covenant or the law of Moses.
2) He lived to a great age (140 years after events) (Job 42:16).
3) His wealth was measured in cattle and servants just like Abraham (cf. Job 1:3, 42:12 and Gen 12:16).
4) The rare Hebrew word kesitah appears as a unit of money as in the patriarchal narratives (cf. Job 42:11 and Gen 33:19)
